The object of the online baccarat game is to use two or three cards to get as close to 9 as possible. Aces count as one point, Tens, Jacks, Queens and Kings all count as zero points and all the other cards count as their face value. You add up the first two cards, drop any number in the tens place (for example, a 7 and a 9 are not equal to 16, they are a 6) and see if you beat the dealer or banker, depending on which you bet on. The software automatically deals a third card when it is supposed to, which is added to the first two cards just like they were added together. The rules for when a third card is dealt in baccarat are rather in depth and complicated and it doesn't really matter because you don't have to worry about it. As a matter of fact, even if you wind up playing mini baccarat in a live casino the dealer takes care of the cards anyway, so it doesn't matter there either.
